Experience Traditional Victorian Tea, Delightful Gardens and Architecture in Downtown Raleigh

The annual Garden Tour and Victorian Tea offers Raleigh residents and visitors a glimpse into the vibrant and beautiful gardens within the city’s oldest neighborhood.  Purchase of ticket includes a one-hour Victorian tea with traditional beverages and snacks and a guided tour of the annual and perennial gardens of the neighborhood.  Oakwood historians will also be in attendance to discuss the neighborhood’s history and its homes’ architectural styles including traditional Victorian, Queen Anne, Second Empire and Greek Revival. 
 
Interested parties will have eight chances to participate in the Historic Oakwood Garden Tour and Victorian Tea on April 30 and May 1, 2011.  Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes for the tour, as the neighborhood is hilly. 

We look forward the gracious hospitality of our host Craig Daingerfield and the lovely garden of his 530 East Jones Street home. Also on tour are the nearby outdoor spaces of Diane Deresienski and Greg Lewbart, Jeff Glade and Tara Mirkar, Ellen Wiebel, and Julie Manly. New partnerships with Everything's Comin' Up Cupcakes , Just Green Landscaping, Sidestreet Restaurant, Kiki’s Bakery, PieBird, Celtic Tea Treats, Peace China and Tin Roof Teas will make for a special treat. Interested parties should purchase their tickets to the garden/tea tour early, as supply is limited. Tickets cost $25.00, and can be purchased at the Oakwood Inn or online at Etix.com. Tickets will only be sold in advance and must be purchased by April 28th.
